Bruce Goldstein, was a partner with Anselmi & Carvelli (formerly MARC Law) from 2013 until his passing on September 2, 2023.

Born in Newark’s Weequahic section, Bruce graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rutgers College in 1964 and then earned a scholarship to Cornell Law School. In a legal career spanning more than five decades, Bruce was regarded as one of the most talented and sought after litigators in New Jersey. His love for the legal profession was contagious.

Bruce launched his career as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s office in New Jersey, where he rose to the post of Executive Assistant U.S Attorney. In 1976 he received the prestigious Attorney General Distinguished Service Award for his successful prosecution of political corruption.

In 1977, Bruce went into private practice playing a pivotal role in establishing Saiber, Schlesinger, Satz & Goldstein as a top-tier New Jersey law firm.

For the last decade, Bruce contributed his expertise at Anselmi & Carvelli, LLP, mentoring the next generation of lawyers. As a distinguished trial lawyer, Bruce was renowned for handling intricate business disputes, ranging from fraud to professional malpractice.

Bruce will be greatly missed, as will his signature greeting, “How you be?” and the outsized smile that accompanied it.

Bruce’s accomplishments were not limited to his professional life. After a heart transplant in 2005, he championed organ donation, serving as Chairman of the NJ Sharing Network from 2015-2017.

Family was Bruce’s cornerstone. He deeply cherished his wife of 54 years, Marjorie, their sons, Jed and Geoffrey, and their three grandchildren. An active member of the Jewish community and an arts enthusiast, Bruce’s generosity, warmth, and ability to forge deep connections will be remembered by all who knew him.
